My name is Kai Ellis Langelier, I am a filmmaker and visual artist.
I love working with many visual mediums, but particularly, moving image. Born in Western Massachusetts, I was introduced to the world of storytelling through the performing arts—in high school, I discovered that crafting the stories themselves was paramount in my personal life. I am currently studying Visual Art & Film at Bennington College, where I have taken strides in search of what materials and forms I can translate through my body.
My work tends to walk through many themes, but is typically involved with natural elements, experimentation, & silliness. Analog formats such as 16mm motion picture, film photography, sculpture & interrelated media are my cardinal mediums. In personal projects, I enjoy taking risks, & finding new ways to speak. Professionally, I have worked as a camera person, director and editor, in tandem with musicians and filmmakers. I am grateful for a majority of this work to be done in the home of Ghost Hit Recording.
I am a collaborator, & my hope is that I can continue this practice throughout my life, share stories, & help others tell theirs. Someday, I would like to be the electric teacher that I have so luckily found in many people.
I am a young artist for hire.
